What are the benefits of Shop App?

Shopify has always stressed that it is about supporting merchants better, and that is their mission. In June last year, Shopify launched its own logistics network, and with the launch of Shop, it's a new upgrade of the Shopify experience.

Shop is an update and reinvention of Shopify's original Arrive program, which originally served to track packages from Shopify merchants and other retailers. Based on Arrive, Shop has the same package tracking functionality, but it also allows consumers to browse profiles of recommended products, consumers can learn more about products from the Shop interface and can use Shop Pay to make purchases with one-click checkout.

It's effectively a shopping assistant that makes shopping more enjoyable. Shop offers personalized product recommendations for each shopper and crucially Shop contains no advertising and is free for both shoppers and brands.

Shopify's team has been asking itself: "How can we best help our customers in an epidemic environment?" The answer was "a feature" that would allow shoppers to browse local merchants and see which ones currently support delivery and in-store purchases.

The Shop positioning is also simple: to deepen the connection between consumers and merchants and increase brand loyalty in the face of social isolation.
