Shopify joins forces with Pinterest!

July 7, 2021

Shopify has upgraded its partnership with Pinterest to make it easy for merchants to get their products online and promoted in response to growing consumer demand around the world.

The Pinterest marketing channel in the Shopify backend is now available in Australia, Austria Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, and the UK. Today, over 1.7 million Shopify merchants worldwide can easily place their products on Pinterest and set them up as buyable product pin images.

How does this work exactly? First, merchants need to install the Pinterest app, which can then be accessed from the Dashboard. The app will automatically place tags, create a catalog, receive natural traffic, and initiate clicks, conversions, and the first dynamic retargeting campaign for the merchant.

In addition, for the first time, merchants will have access to 2 new services.

  • Dynamic retargeting: for those Pinterest users who have already shown interest in products placed on Pinterest, merchants will have the opportunity to engage with them again.

  • Multi-subscription support for product catalogs: this is a new feature. Merchants can upload products to multiple product subscriptions feeds from the same Pinterest business account. Multi-source support for product catalogs gives retailers greater access to customers around the world. Merchants can upload specific feeds for each market in which they sell their products, and can also upload feeds according to different advertising strategies, such as lead generation or retargeting strategies.
